Fall 2015 update

Hi everyone!

It’s been awhile since I’ve provided an update on my site and I wanted to keep you all in  the loop. While I am very excited to fight again this fall, I have been focused primarily in the past few months on opening and building Carlson Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club Anaheim Hills. I’m so stoked about having my own space to work with other athletes as well as a space to train myself. Above all I enjoy inspiring others to reach their highest potential on and off the mat. If you’re in the area and interested in checking out a class, be sure to visit the “Schedule” tab so we can connect.

I will keep you all posted on when I fight again. In the meantime I hope to see you soon on the mat at Carlson Gracie BJJ Anaheim Hills!

NICK MOGHADDAM IN HIGH SPIRITS DESPITE LOSS TO RAY SLOAN

unnamed-3October 25, 2014, Lake Forest, CA – Local fighter Nick Moghaddam lost to Ray Sloan by unanimous decision at the preliminary card of Bellator 127 which took place on October 3, 2014 at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. The event aired live in prime time on Spike TV.

“I had a game plan for this fight with Master Allan Goes but as we all know, fights never go as planned. I saw some things that needed to be fixed and I also saw opportunities where I could have finished the fight.” said Nick Moghaddam.

Moghaddam has received extensive training & preparation under Master Allan Goes. His cardio was overseen by Mark Munoz. Nick also stated that his weight cut was done perfectly and that he was in perfect fighting form coming into the match.

“Nick came in ready to fight and his cardio was off the charts. In fact, if it was a five round championship fight… he would have outlasted Ray Sloan.” said Mark Munoz, one of Nick’s trainers for the fight.

Nick Moghaddam will be taking a break from MMA until January 2015 and will be looking to return to the Bellator cage to get some wins under his belt. In the meantime, he will be competing in the Jiu-jitsu World Championships on November 22-23, 2014. He recently received his first stripe on his black belt from Master Allan Goes and he will be looking to showcase his BJJ skills in the World Championships.

Nick Moghaddam is Set to Fight For Bellator 127 on October 3, 2014

photo

205lb Nick Moghaddam(6-7-1) is set to make his long anticipated return to Bellator 127 where he will face undefeated Ray Sloan(7-0).  Moghaddam has been in full training camp at the Reign where Mark Munoz and famed BJJ Master Allan Goes have been overseeing Nick’s preparation. Moghaddam, who holds a black belt in BJJ under Allan Goes, has been improving his striking game since his last match. Moghaddam has stated that there is no weight to be cut for this match as he is walking around at 205lb; this means Nick’s cardio will be at an all time best.

“In the past in have had problems with absurd weight cuts witch was effecting my cardio and performance. I have never lost a fight when I didn’t have to cut any weight, so this is an ideal situation 5 weeks out from the fight nearly walking at 205. I’m excited for this fight and I’m coming to win, not just put on a good show, WIN that’s all that matters and I will do whatever it takes.”

The fight is scheduled to be held on October 3 at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA.

Signed with bellator on a 3 fight contract in June 2013. September 13 I fought  Virgil Zwicker. The fight did not go my way at all I suffered an injury to my knee early in the fight.

Moving forward, I have taken time off mma I feel like I was getting burnt out. Since bellator I have been sharpening up my skills I feel I needed improvement in and taken this time to really focus on myself especially after taking this much time off of MMA training full time. My body has actually got a chance to heal with his time off. 2014 I’m looking to put all these years of hard work and dedication and effort in to putting  together a win streak this year.
